Lunar Eclipse on This April Full Moon Day - So Called Pink Moon Lunar Eclipse

Lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth, the sun and the moon align, with the Earth in the middle. The shadow of the Earth falls on the surface of the moon when it is positioned exactly between the sun and the moon.

This year's first of the three lunar eclipse will occur tomorrow. Interesting fact is the moon will be in Pink (Pink Moon). April's full moon is also called in different names as Seed Moon, Growing Moon, Full Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and Full Fish Moon. Any how in India we will have only partial lunar eclipse but at some part of the world, the lunar eclipse can be viewed fully. A tiny sliver of the Moon will be covered by the Earth's shadow at maximum of the partial lunar eclipse.

According to NASA, the shortest partial lunar eclipse of the 21st century will be on February 13, 2082, lasting only 25.5 minutes. NASA data also indicates that on September 28, 2034, the second shortest partial eclipse will last for 26.7 minutes. The April 25-26, 2013, partial lunar eclipse will last for 27 minutes, making it the third shortest lunar eclipse of this century. The lunar eclipse in various phases will begin at 11.32 pm tomorrow night and end at 03.43 am on April 26.
